I now live in Berlin. This is the city, which my parents and I came to via the Soviet Union to East Berlin, and around the U-Bahn system to finally land in West Berlin to apply for asylum. The Iron Curtain is long gone now, but there certainly resonates a history here of both merging and conflicting cultures and politics from various parts of the world. Ideas of “Easts” and “Wests” are still being tackled here on various levels of everyday life. My move here is personal, but with a universal outlook I find it to be important to continue with my work in a “worldly” setting.
